Neighbili works because real people treat each other like neighbours. These are the rules of the street.
Be the neighbour you'd want next door
- Say hello like a human, not like a customer service form.
- Offer what you can. Ask when you need to. Both are normal.
- Show up when you say you will. If plans change, message early.
- Return what you borrow, in the state you got it.
What gets you a warning
- Ghosting people repeatedly after agreeing to meet or trade.
- Pushy commercial behaviour ("DM me for prices") when your post wasn't flagged paid.
- Cluttering chats with off-topic content or spam.
What gets you removed, immediately
- Harassment, threats, hate speech, racism, sexism, homophobia or transphobia.
- Sexual content or unsolicited sexual advances.
- Sharing anyone's private information without consent.
- Impersonating someone else, faking verification, or running multiple accounts.
- Scams, MLM recruitment, crypto pitches, political campaigning.
- Anything that endangers a child.
Safety basics
- Meet in public the first time you exchange anything of value.
- Never share your bank login, ID document, or one-time codes with another neighbour.
- Trust your gut. If something feels off, leave the chat and report.
Reporting
Every profile, post and chat has a Report option. Reports are reviewed by Neighbili moderators — not by the person you reported. Repeated valid reports lead to suspension.
Appeals
If your account is suspended and you think we got it wrong, email hello@neighbili.com with your account email. A human will read it.
